TorontoGameDevs.com - Year End Review - What's Next For 2016
It's been a solid year for TorontoGameDevs.com - for one, the site exists!
I've spoken about this a few times, but TorontoGameDevs.com was created because I found out Guacamelee was created by DrinkBox Studios, right here in Toronto. Because of this, I wanted to see what other games were created in Toronto. Apparently it's a lot. So I started a Twitter account, which turned into a Tumblr, which turned into this site.
It's been a crazy year, and the site has grown way past I could ever imagine, to the point where I have been approved to go to E3. We started doing interviews with developers, that gave insight into how they got their start, where they came from. We started doing a podcast, started posting jobs, and launched a Patreon. Money by the way which went towards helping the Toronto Game Database, which is the next big thing to happen in 2016.
I'll keep doing what I'm doing because I love doing it. TorontoGameDevs.com continues to be a side project for me, but one that I am passionate about. I'll do everything in my power to continue to grow it to being the number one resources for games developed in Toronto.
Thanks for the amazing year! Remember to follow us on Twitter, and if you can help out on Patreon, I'd appreciate it.
Take care,
Steve
