Gameloft Releases Survey Results on Canadian Gaming Habits
A recent survey by French game developer and publisher Gameloft, in partnership with market research firm Leger, shows that there are significant differences between the gaming habits of Canadians.
The survey results (which can be read in full here), was released earlier this year based on research conducted October of 2019 which polled over 2,500+ Canadians age 18 or over.
For starters, 7 out of 10 Canadian gamers (68%) play on mobile devices, which is more than on any other platform.
The study also shows that players are especially active in the evening (61%), more so than at night (28%) or in the afternoon (28%). There’s also a divergence in these nocturnal habits: Québécois people game in the evening (72%), compared to less than half of Albertans.
While the rest of the country is not very keen on waking up early to play, people from Manitoba and Saskatchewan are more likely to play in the morning—with almost a third of respondents from these provinces playing before going to school or work. Ontarians, on the other hand, are most likely to play as soon as they are on a break from work or school (18%, compared to 9% in other provinces).
