Ubisoft Delays Several Upcoming Games
Ubisoft has officially announced in a press release that they are delaying Gods & Monsters, Rainbow Six Quarantine and Watch_Dogs Legion into Ubisoft’s next fiscal year, which runs from Spring 2020 - Spring 2021.
The only game to have a release date of the ones delayed was Watch_Dogs Legion, which was originally scheduled to release March 3, 2020.
All of the delayed games were major parts of Ubisoft’s E3 2019 press conference, with Watch_Dogs Legion garnering a lot of attention for its assassin grandma and new “play as any NPC” gimmick.
The press release issued by Ubisoft contained a statement from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot citing Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s underperforming launch, both critically and financially, as to why Ubisoft decided to delay these games.
“While each of these games already has a strong identity and high potential, we want our teams to have more development time to ensure that their respective innovations are perfectly implemented so as to deliver optimal experiences for players,” said Guillemot.
The press release also mentioned a decreased revenue project from The Division 2, which is apparently performing worse than Ubisoft anticipated.
