'Goodbye Volcano High' Delayed to Summer 2023

Montréal-based, worker-owned game studio KO_OP Mode (@KOOPMode) have delayed their cinematic narrative adventure game Goodbye Volcano High from its targeted 2022 release into 2023.

Announced via a post on the game’s Steam page, the new target release is Summer 2023.

This has been a learning experience for us: producing an ambitious project for our studio’s size, with over 6000 voiced lines, and a large number of bespoke animations. We care about this game and the story we’re telling so much, and want to deliver something that is in line with what we’ve always envisioned for this game. It’s what you deserve!

The announcement also came with a new teaser trailer.

Pitched as a “hybrid cinematic narrative/rhythm game/coming of age/interactive movie experience” the game was first announced at Sony's "Future of Gaming" online event for the PlayStation 5 in 2020.

The game will launch on PC and exclusively on consoles for PS4 and PS5.
