The University of Calgary's Game Design Club (GDC) will be hosting a GAME JAM for the kids at Inn From the Cold (The Inn), a Calgary-based shelter that is dedicated to helping find stability for families that are experiencing a housing crisis.

The purpose of the Inn From the Cold Game Jam is to give vulnerable youth exposure to the world of game development, by creating games based on the collaborative ideas of you, the game developer, and the kids.

This Game Jam will include two in-person events hosted at the Inn From The Cold shelter:

- The Kick-Off event (Jan 3rd 4-5 pm MST), where we will get together with the kids at The Inn to discuss and brainstorm game ideas.

- The Wrap-Up event (Jan 6th 4-5 pm MST), where we will show off the games that participants have made for the game jam!

Attendance to these events is not required for participation in the Game Jam, however, it is highly encouraged that at least one person in your group attends the Kick-Off event to brainstorm ideas for the games, as the point of this game jam is to make games based on the input of the kids. Also if you wish to attend in person an Inn From the Cold volunteer agreement form will be sent to you, filling this out is only required to be able to attend in person.
