KO_OP Mode Announces 'Young Suns', Available Now in Xbox Game Preview

Montréal-based cooperative indie game studio KO_OP Mode (@KOOPmode) has revealed their next game Young Suns and it’s available now in Xbox Game Preview and included in Xbox Game Pass.

In a game reveal style we’ve seen studios such as House House do recently for their co-op game Big Walk, KO_OP devs appear as characters in-game to explain their new co-op narrative life sim.

Set on Jupiter in an “optimistic alternative future” players take on the role of a “sundog” in a recently liberated space station. Narrative designer Jenna states “we’ve built a really deep and reactive narrative system” for Young Suns. Players navigate 8 different revolutionary factions in this society which just overthrew a repressive corporate overlord and sent them packing.

Senior programmer Max explains that the character customization occurs in a “somaformer, a highly controlled genetic resequencing device” that used to be owned by the “plutocrats”- maybe they’re actually from Pluto.

Players can also customize their space ship, either solo or with friends, using furniture they scavange in their travels. Players will travel to various “planetoids” to gather resources and complete quests for the factions.

VERY FAMOUSLY

For now the game is only available in Xbox Game Preview on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Xbox on PC- though it does have a Steam page where you can wishlist.
