Red Hook Partners With Make-A-Wish Foundation for Fan-Designed Monster and Items
Vancouver-based indie developer Red Hook Studios (@RedHookStudios) has partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to have a fan design a new monster and some items for their currently in early access sequel Darkest Dungeon II.
Announced via Red Hook Studios’ blog, they say “Sam’s wish was to design a new enemy for Darkest Dungeon II. Sam met with Red Hook co-founders Chris Bourassa and Tyler Sigman to discuss the game & get a behind-the-scenes look at DDII’s ongoing development. Bourassa worked closely with Sam to create a horrific new monster, as well as a suite of complementary items…”
The monster Sam helped design is the Gaunt Chigurgeon, a support for the Gaunt faction of enemies in the game. He uses leeches to inflict heavy bleed and heal other enemies.
Darkest Dungeon II, the sequel to their crushing 2016 roguelite, will leave early access on the Epic Games Store and launch on Steam on May 8, 2023.
