2020 Ubisoft Indie Series Winners Announced

Ubisoft Toronto (@UbisoftToronto) has announced that Vivid Foundry (@VividFoundry) has earned the Grand Prize and Kitten Cup Studio (@KittenCupStudio) has won the Special Prize in the 4th Indie Series, with Massive Damage (@massdmginc) getting an honourable distinction.

Vivid Foundry has won $50,000 CAD, mentorship from Ubisoft experts to help with development and marketing support for their upcoming game Solace State, as well as personalized financial diagnosis, counsel, and entrepreneurial training from National Bank.

Kitten Cup Studio has won $25,000 CAD, mentorship from Ubisoft experts to help with development for their unannounced game as well as personalized financial diagnosis and counsel provided by National Bank experts.

Kitten Cup Studio’s game concept was solid and focused, with a prototype that showed a clear vision, even at an early stage of production. With the entrepreneur mentorship from National Bank, we’re excited to see this new studio grow as part of the talented Ontario game development industry. - Ubisoft

Of Massive Damage’s Star Renegades, judges said it had a “polished, clever, and innovative combat system,” and a “unique mix of roguelike, JRPG, and strategy game genres.”
