Alto's Adventure Out Now On Mac

Alto’s Adventure has been released on Mac, which you can pick up right here for $9.99 USD. Snowman’s founder Ryan Cash let me know via email that this was planned for a while:

“Ever since we launched the game on iOS we’d always wanted to do a Mac version, and we’d actually begun working on it a long time ago. We kind of got tied up with the tvOS version when that launched, and then of course, Alto’s Odyssey. When Apple announced the new Mac App Store at WWDC this year we knew it was time to dust off the code and bring it to the finish line.”

Skate City Gameplay Gets Tweeted

In an interesting way to show off gameplay, Snowman and Agens have been tweeting some footage of their upcoming mobile game, Skate City. I've copied a few below, but check out their Twitter and follow them to stay up to date.

The game is set to come out for iOS and Android, but we'll have to wait a bit to see when that is. In the meantime, we can look forward to Alto's Odyssey, Where Cards Fall, and Distant.

E3: Alto's Odyssey Looks Great On Sand

Alto's Odyssey is set for release sometime this year, and it looks like we're trading in the snowy peaks of Alto's Adventure for sandy ones in Odyssey.  There was a Youtube interview from E3 that Kotaku wrote about:

"Eli Cymet, lead producer for development team Built By Snowman, talked with Gameslice host Geoff Keighley about Alto’s Odyssey yesterday at E3, showing off some of the game’s new moves. Wall rides and dynamic obstacles add some upward motion to the downhill boarding game without adding any control complexity—it’s still a simple one-finger game."

First Look at Gameplay for DISTANT

As we previously mentioned in a past post, Snowman and Slingshot & Satchel are working on DISTANT.  We don't know too much about the game yet, but some gameplay footage was released today.  It was first publicly shared at Tribeca Games Festival.  From The Snowman Blog:

Sun-drenched and placid above the surface, with an ancient darkness lurking beneath, this world is just one of the many you’ll traverse as you unravel DISTANT’s secrets. What are the giant beasts lumbering in the distance? Who is the powerful cloaked traveler you’re guiding? And what exactly are those glowing, ethereal shards?

Traverse fantastical, colourful worlds and uncover their secrets. Here's a first look at DISTANT gameplay! Facebook: http://facebook.com/distantgame Twitter: http://twitter.com/playdistant Instagram: http://instagram.com/playdistant Music by www.jordanchinmusic.com

Alto's Odyssey Gets A Teaser Trailer - Coming Later This Year

To celebrate the second anniversary of Alto's Adventure, Snowman was kind enough to give us a Alto's Odyssey teaser trailer which you can check out below:

But ultimately, in these last two years, nothing has been more humbling for us than to see fans connect with Alto and friends the way they have. From kind emails and social media messages telling us how the game has helped people discover play, or cope with anxiety, to gorgeous fan art beyond our wildest expectations, your reaction has been the greatest gift of all.

Today, that celebration continues. Rather than look back, though, we think it’s time to look forward to the horizon. And to the odyssey that awaits.

New Trailer For Where Cards Fall - Coming Fall 2017

Snowman announced today that Where Cards Fall will be coming Fall 2017 iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac and PC. With the announcement they also delivered a new trailer which you can see below:

Where Cards Fall is a coming of age story where you build houses of cards to move through imaginative puzzles and bring vivid memories of adolescence to life. Coming to iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, and PC in Fall 2017.

From the blog post, Snowman described the game a bit more in depth:

It may look cinematic, but what you’re seeing here is a real glimpse of our gameplay and story. In Where Cards Fall, you’ll build houses of cards to form and shape the world around you. These houses not only help you move through imaginative puzzles, but also bring to life vivid memories of adolescence.
This particular memory is of teenagehood in the suburbs. Filled with far more cacophonous uncertainty than the playful magic of the forests, the suburbs are home to a crucial question: who will you become? Would you rather remain comfortable at home, or venture into the world outside?

Where Cards Fall is expected to hit PC, Mac, and iOS devices this Fall, so in the meantime, make sure to download the studio's previous game, Alto's Adventure.

Built By Snowman Announces Skate City For Mobile

Toronto developer Built By Snowman is still at it. After announcing Alto's Odyssey late last year, they have also announced Skate City, a game they are working on with Norway developer Agnes. You can check out the teaser trailer below.

Snowman says they are trying something a little different with Skate City, and we'll have to wait a bit longer for more info. The game is expected to hit Android and iOS.

Alto's Odyssey Announced - Coming 2017

Snowman is probably one of the busiest developers out there right now.  On top of everything else, they've now announced Alto's Odyseey which is scheduled to release in 2017.  Not much is known about it, but Ryan Cash has stated that it was thought of long before Alto's Adventure release.

We'll have to wait a bit more to find out what it all means, so in the mean time download Alto's Adventure on iOS.
