Guacamelee! 2 launched on PlayStation 4, and PC last August and now we got some DLC in store. Starting tomorrow you’ll be able to play as three of the games bosses El Muñeco, Uay Pek, or Jaguar Javier.
December 7th will be a bit more beefy with new challenge levels:
“This new DLC pack ($3.99) introduces a new challenge level, The Proving Grounds – a floating temple and home to the god Tiempochtli, where luchadores have gone since the beginning of time to sharpen their skills. Your five lucha trainers team up to guide you through a series of challenges, and each trainer is ready to award you with a character skin that lets you play the game as that trainer. Like the Enemigos, their costumes have unique gameplay attributes suited to the trainer’s specialty. Flame Face does higher and higher damage the greater your combo grows; Uay Coco’s magic lets him execute many special moves, but his body is extra-vulnerable to damage (and he makes for a pretty adorable ‘chicken’).”
Guacamelee! 2 will be hitting Switch next month as well, and if you’re curious what we thought of Guacamelee! 2 make sure to check out our spoilercast.

Spoilercast! We got a new show for CanadianGameDevs.com where we'll play a game and just discuss it on end. It'll be sort of a review/spoilercast type of show.
First up is Guacamelee! 2 from DrinkBox Studios. This sequel to the 2013 indie hit dropped on PS4 and Steam last week so Bret, and I were joined by developer from the first game turned fan Jason Canam to discuss everything we liked (a lot of things) and disliked (not that many things) about DrinkBox's new game.
Remember to subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, Google Play, or SoundCloud. And Patron's at the $4+ level got this episode 2+ days early.

On August 21st, gamers can download the metroidvania sequel on PlayStation 4 (which you can pre-order here and save 20%), and Steam (wishlist). The game was announced late last year, and said it would be coming "soon-ish" (which I guess worked out to be about 9 months). You can check out the announcement trailer below.

With PAX East happening just this past weekend, IGN did catch up with Graham Smith from DrinkBox Studios about what's new in Guacamelee! 2. Hope you like chickens because in the video Mr Smith talks about playing as them more in the sequel, including having new moves.
Guacamelee! 2 is releasing on PlayStation 4, and Steam "soon".
Tribes of Midgard Season 3 drops later this month which comes with a slew of free updates, including a new Saga Boss, a revamped survival mode, new weapons, enemies, armors, and more.
Announced late last year at PlayStation Experience, DrinkBox Studios announced today that Guacamelee! 2 will be coming to Steam - infact you can add the game to your Steam wishlist today!
We're excited to announce that Guacamelee! 2 is coming to Steam!

If you're thinking of picking up the game, we'd love it if you could add us to your Steam Wishlist. Every person helps!https://t.co/B8U1vaYvqb
Both versions of the game are said to be coming "soon", however to celebrate, DrinkBox put all their games on massive sales on Steam so check it out!
Though not developed in Toronto or the surrounding area, Brawlout does have a connection to the game development scene here in the GTA. Similar to Runbow, there are a few indie characters in the game and the Smash Brothers-like game includes Juan from Drinkbox Studios' Guacamelee series as a playable fighter.
A humble agave farmer turned legendary luchador, Juan is always prepared to piledrive evil.
Following his demise at the hands of the villainous Carlos Calaca, Juan was revived thanks to the mysterious powers of a magical wrestling mask. Transformed into the luchador he always dreamed of, Juan set out to defeat Calaca, save his beloved and bring peace to the worlds of the living and the dead.
With moves like the Rooster Uppercut, Frog Slam and Dashing Derpderp, Juan is one wrestler you don’t want to grapple with. If that’s not enough, Juan can transform himself into a chicken, should the mood strike him. It’s no poultry skill, I’ll tell you that!
We'll have to wait a bit more to play Guacamelee 2, but until then gamers can get their Juan-action on in Brawlout which is out now on Switch and Steam, and coming Early 2018 on PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
With PSX happening this last weekend, we did get some new footage of Toronto games. First up is Guacamelee 2 from DrinkBox Studios. You can check out the PS4Pro footage below courtesy of IGN's Youtube page.
Guacamelee 2 is said to come soon-ish.
The new studio founded by ex-BioWare devs Humanoid Origin is looking to fill multiple roles.
