Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football set for release in Fall 2019

Canuck Play & Spear Interactive welcomes Hall of Fame Quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie as partner and brand ambassador to the Maximum Football video game franchise.

Flutie has agreed to a multi-year relationship with Maximum Football and will lend his name and likeness to the franchise beginning in Fall 2019 with the anticipated release of Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We’re extremely excited to have Doug on board,” said David Winter, President of Canuck Play. “His accomplishments at all levels and styles of football are well known, and he is the obvious natural fit for our title.”

“I’m basically a kid at heart, who lives for playing sports in person or on the screen. This partnership gives me the chance to join the video game space and I’m looking forward to helping grow the Maximum Football brand,” said Flutie. “What drew me to Maximum Football was the innovative concept of including three different styles of football in the game.”

Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football will feature Doug as a playable character and include multiple new gameplay features.

The Maximum Football franchise was re-launched in 2017 by Canuck Play. DrinkBox Studios Announces Guacamelee! 2 DLC

Guacamelee! 2 launched on PlayStation 4, and PC last August and now we got some DLC in store. Starting tomorrow you’ll be able to play as three of the games bosses El Muñeco, Uay Pek, or Jaguar Javier.

December 7th will be a bit more beefy with new challenge levels:

“This new DLC pack ($3.99) introduces a new challenge level, The Proving Grounds – a floating temple and home to the god Tiempochtli, where luchadores have gone since the beginning of time to sharpen their skills. Your five lucha trainers team up to guide you through a series of challenges, and each trainer is ready to award you with a character skin that lets you play the game as that trainer. Like the Enemigos, their costumes have unique gameplay attributes suited to the trainer’s specialty. Flame Face does higher and higher damage the greater your combo grows; Uay Coco’s magic lets him execute many special moves, but his body is extra-vulnerable to damage (and he makes for a pretty adorable ‘chicken’).”

Guacamelee! 2 will be hitting Switch next month as well, and if you’re curious what we thought of Guacamelee! 2 make sure to check out our spoilercast.
