Ubisoft is running the latest event for Rainbow Six Siege - titled ‘Showdown’. The event will run until July 16th and feature a 3 vs 3 game mode on an exclusive map, Fort Truth. You can check out the full trailer below.

They roam across the land, bringing order to those who ain’t got any, and they ain’t about to let nobody stop them. They are The Law. On the opposite side, the lawbreaking Graveltop Gang. In the Wildest days of the West, these two factions clashed on many occasions, yet the Graveltop Gang always managed to vanish into the desert. Until they finally faced off in the husk of an old fort. That day, they say, bullets rained like never before.

These two have grudges to settle… and bodies to bury.

It's a Showdown at Fort Truth! Play a brand new 3v3 Secure Area map in this limited time in-game event from July 2-16. Your posse of three will face off against another trio to overtake the ruins of Fort Truth and its mountain of gold.

CanadianGameDevs Is Seeking Help - Paid Partnership [Update]

Update: June 25th - Please note that I’ve recieved more than enough applicants for this, so I’ll be closing this for now :)

Running CanadianGameDevs.com is a lot of work - a lot of work. Most weeks I probably spend 15-20 hours working on various things and on the extreme end that has gotten as high as 50. It’s a passion project, and I love doing it and the connections and relationships I’ve made have been incredible -  but eventually enough is enough and one can only get so far on their own.

This decision also comes off the heels of my Dad passing last year and taking some time off this year, as well as my wife being pregnant with our first daughter, due in October. I’ve realized that in order for CanadianGameDevs to become the best it can be I’ll need some help. In wanting to get the right person and treat them right it’s going to be a paid position - I’m not just looking for someone to work for me, but someone to work with me.

So! If you’re interested, I’m looking to work with someone who:

  • Loves video games - PC, consoles, handhelds, mobile, all or some - with a specific love for Canadian-made games.

  • They have a passion to highlight games and the people who make them, they care about who makes them not just that they are made.

  • Likes to do some writing, work on videos, editing, podcasting - whatever else might come up

Tasks involve:

  • Writing posts about Canadian-made games (including announcements, releases, updates)

  • Updating things such as Gamedev Events, the Game Studios lists, and Freelancers pages

  • Join us on our Podcast, and potentially Twitch Streaming, maybe something with Youtube?

  • Help with promotion (social media, SEO, etc), and Sales (job postings, Patreons)

Basically, a partner. Above is pretty much what I do on a week-to-week so I’d ideally want someone to split responsibilities with. Based on this revenue would be split - but the details on payment can be hammered home during interviews.

If you’re interested, please email me steve@canadiangamedevs.com with a short blurb about yourself and why you’d make a good fit (feel free to include your social media incase we’ve spoken before).

UBISOFT ® ANNOUNCES WATCH DOGS®: LEGION

Watch Dogs®: Legion Introduces Gameplay Innovation  Enabling Players to ‘Play as Anyone’ in Near-Future London

MONTREAL – June 10, 2019– Today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Ubisoft® announced that Watch Dogs®: Legion, the newest installment of the blockbuster Watch Dogs® franchise will be available worldwide on March 6, 2020 for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X and Windows PC. Watch Dogs: Legion will also launch on the new generation gaming platform, Stadia

In the near future, London is facing its downfall: people are being oppressed by an all-seeing surveillance state, a corrupt private military corporation controls the streets, and a powerful crime syndicate is preying on the most vulnerable. In Watch Dogs: Legion, the player’s mission is to build a resistance to fight back against the emergence of an authoritarian regime.

Thanks to a never-before-seen gameplay innovation created by Ubisoft Toronto*, the studio behind Watch Dogs: Legion, players will have complete freedom to ‘Play as Anyone.’ Every Londoner in the open world is fully simulated, with a persistent life and backstory, and players can recruit anyone from the entire population into their team. From an MI5 agent to a tough bareknuckle fighter, from a brilliant hacker to an illegal street racer, or from a rising football star to a geriatric grandma, anyone can join the resistance and become the hero of the story.

Every character also has unique gameplay traits, based on their profile. Once they join the team, players choose their class, level them up, and unlock new abilities and upgrades. They can easily swap between them and approach the challenges of the game the way they want using hacking and drones, stealth, melee or combat, lethal or non-lethal.

In Watch Dogs: Legion, the players' choices have real consequences. If non-lethal force is used, the enemy will attempt to subdue and arrest the player. But if the player shoots to kill, their characters could be wounded or even permanently killed.

In Watch Dogs: Legion, players can even bring their unique team online and team up with their friends in four-player co-op, while sharing their progression between single-player and online.

In addition, Ubisoft announced the Gold, Ultimate and Collector’s Editions** for Watch Dogs: Legion:

  • Gold Edition includes the base game and the Season Pass.

  • Ultimate Edition includes Gold Edition and Ultimate digital content, including four weeks VIP Status to earn experience and currency faster.

  • Collector’s Edition includes the Ultimate Edition plus the LED Ded Coronet Mask Replica, an exclusive Steelbook®, a set of three stickers and a recto-verso propaganda poster, all inspired by the game's universe, and instant access to the mask in-game. Collector’s Edition is exclusive to the Ubisoft Store.

Fans who purchase the Gold, Ultimate or Collector’s editions will be able to get the game up to three days early from the standard release date. Fans who pre-order Watch Dogs Legion will receive access to the Golden King Pack with the “Uneasy Lies” Mask Skin, the “Serpent Sisters” Pistol Skin and the “Lux” Car Skin.

Moreover, Ubicollectibles revealed Watch Dogs: Legion: Resistant of London, its new figurine inspired directly from the world of Watch Dogs. This 26 cm figurine shows a DedSec operative in an iconic pose, wearing either the Winston mask or the King of Hearts mask (as two switchable masks will be included) and stepping defiantly on an Albion mercenary’s helmet as a proud member of London's resistance. This piece holds a burnt Black Jack flag, the symbol of the city’s decay. On top of that, a unique ULC code that unlocks the in-game mask “King of Hearts” will be included for free.

Watch Dogs: Legion will also be available on Uplay+, Ubisoft’s subscription service for Windows PC. More details on Uplay+ can be found on Uplay.com.***

VENTURE INTO THE UNDERWORLD IN ASSASSIN’S CREED® ODYSSEY THE FATE OF ATLANTIS, EPISODE 2, NOW AVAILABLE

Montreal — June 4, 2019 —Today, Ubisoft announced that Torment of Hades, the second episode of the post-launch story arc of Assassin’s Creed® Odyssey The Fate of Atlantis, is now available on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X and Windows PC.

Torment of Hades transports players to the Underworld, a vast world of endless gloom filled with wandering dead, ruled by the sharp and cunning Hades. As the story unfolds, players will come face-to-face with the ghosts of their past and continue their journey in mastering the Staff of Hermes. In order to escape the afterlife, players will have to help the dead find their rightful resting place and settle the debt that Hades demands.

Each of the episodes of The Fate of Atlantis will introduce new ability enhancements related to the different branches of the skill tree – Hunter, Warrior and Assassin. In this second episode, players will discover three new ability enhancements, including:

  • Kronos Time Shift is part of the Warrior branch of the skill tree, and will launch players into the air while temporarily blinding surrounding enemies. While you are in the air, time stops for a moment, letting you use abilities from above or in a chain with Leap of Faith’s ground smash. When you shoot in the air, the damage will also automatically crit targets.

  • Ares Last Breath is also part of the Warrior branch of the skill tree. This healing ability will grant immunity to enemy attacks, restore 5% of damage dealt as Health and automatically parry enemy melee hits.

  • Artemis Trickery is part of the Hunter branch of the skill tree, and will transform players’ arrows into deadly traps that detonate and deal damage to enemies that come in close proximity. Any type of arrow can be used and will offer a different type of effect on detonation.

In order to play Torment of Hades, players will have two different options:

  • Following the main game, players will have to complete the questline Between Two Worlds, the mythological main game story arc, and the Lost Tales of Greece questline Heir of Memories that is available after completing the former questline. Finally, they must have reached character level 28 or above.

  • Players who do not fulfill all the above conditions will be able to use a shortcut created specifically for them. Thanks to this shortcut, players will enter Greece level 52 with preset abilities and resources, enabling them to start their adventure into the afterlife with Heir of Memories. They will also have the opportunity to choose their hero. However, contrary to the previous option, player progression using the shortcut will not carry over to the main game save, and they will not be able to obtain achievements.

The Assassin’s Creed Odyssey post-launch plan is the biggest and most ambitious in the franchise, and season pass owners will be able to access two major episodic storylines, Legacy of the First Blade and The Fate of Atlantis. Players can dive into new episodes as they premiere or experience the epic adventures in their entirety once all episodes are available. The season pass also includes Assassin’s Creed® III Remastered and Assassin’s Creed® III Liberation Remastered, which released for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X and Windows PC on March 29, 2019.

The Fate of Atlantis can be purchased as part of the Assassin’s Creed® Odyssey Season Pass for $49.99 or as part of The Fate of Atlantis story arc for $34.99 and will be downloadable for players who already own the Season Pass or Gold Edition starting today.
