Shakedown: Hawaii From The Developer Behind Retro City Rampage Releasing May 7th
/ Stephen CraneVBlank Entertainment, the Vancouver developer behind Retro City Rampage will be releasing their latest - Shakedown: Hawaii on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and PC tomorrow on May 7th. Similar to Retro City Rampage, Shakedown: Hawaii is a retro style open-world game similar to the original Grand Theft Auto Games.
The entire island is up for grabs... or at least, could be with the right business model.
Welcome to Shakedown: Hawaii, Vblank Entertainment's latest open world adventure. Build a "legitimate" corporation by completing open world missions, acquiring businesses, sabotaging competitors, "rezoning" land, and shaking down shops for protection money.
You are the CEO, and questionable subsidiaries, misleading ads, fine print, hidden service fees, and marketing spin are your tools of choice. Shakedown: Hawaii parodies big business, and the most absurd business practices that go alongside.
From the boardroom to the streets, build your corporate empire and destroy the competition.
The game will be out on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and PC on May 7th, and is expected to hit Nintendo 3DS at some point.
Phoenix Labs is still at it with their free-to-play monster hunting game Dauntless. This newest update, version 1.6.0, includes Trials updates, War Pike changes, and a new Time Strike Battle Pass. You can check out the full patch details on their website.
“Next season - Season 9 - you're actually going to see a ton of Titanfall coming back into the game, in one way or another. I've told some people before, if you're a Titanfall fan, hang on for Season 9 because there's gonna be some really cool stuff there.” - Game Director, Chad Grenier
Partially developed in the new Respawn Vancouver office, Apex Legends sees its release on Nintendo Switch - which will feature a Legendary Pathfinder skin, 30 free levels for the Season 8 Battle Pass, and double XP for logins in the first two weeks - however there is no cross-save with Apex Legends.

Runbow Pocket Release Date Announced - Also Working On New IP For Switch
/ Stephen CraneIt's been a while since we've heard about Runbow Pocket, but 13AM Games always let me know it's coming. Now we know what day it will be available.
In a post on Nintendo Life, Alex Rushdy, CEO and Creative Director at 13AM Games, announced that Runbow Pocket will come to June 20th in North America, and Europe for the new Nintendo 3DS, and new Nintendo 2DS. Alex even went into some of the trouble they had in porting their multiplayer Wii U game:
As part of our company culture, we don’t like keeping our fans in the dark as to why a game has been delayed or changed in some way since reveal, so I’d like to answer some of the questions that you guys might have about the game. It was a very difficult process to squeeze a large Wii U game into the New 3DS, especially when the engine it is built in is not our own. Being a pilot project for Unity New 3DS meant we had to face a cavalcade of technical difficulties, creating a new networking system, creating an e-commerce plug-in, figuring out how to maximize performance with significantly smaller CPU, GPU and memory compared to Wii U, and reorganizing all the UI and UX to work on the lower resolution dual screens.
Alex also mentioned some contests they are running on their Twitter, so check out the full Nintendo Life article for more.
We also get a tease at 13AM Games next project, which will be a single player action game on Switch that is also "weird", and distinctly "13AM". With E3 a few weeks ago, maybe we'll find out more, but for now we'll have to sit tight and wait.
Will you be picking up Runbow Pocket in June?

Runbow Deluxe Out This Month, Runbow Pocket Delayed - 13AM Games Updates Us
/ Stephen CraneDeveloper 13AM Games took to their Tumblr today to give us some updates on the upcoming 3DS game Runbow Pocket, and retail version Runbow Deluxe. Do you want the good news, or the bad news first?
Good News: Runbow Deluxe will be available release October 25th in North America. It will be $29.99, and you get access to Runbow, all of Runbow's DLC, and the Runbow Soundtrack Volume 1 and 2. Shantae will also be available as free DLC to the existing Runbow game in time for the Deluxe release.
Runbow Pocket will also include online play on new Nintendo 3DS when it releases.
Bad News: Runbow Pocket, and Runbow Pocket Deluxe has been delayed into Q1 2017.
Development on Runbow Pocket, especially the online functionality, took a few turns we didn’t quite expect. Rather than rush out a game that we didn’t feel was up to our standards, we decided a delay would be better if it meant we could focus on improving the quality of the game itself
Runbow Pocket will also not feature any sort of local multiplayer.
Now, making this system a reality meant focusing on Online connectivity over the New Nintendo 3DS’ Local connectivity. While this now means no Streetpass or local multiplayer, focusing on Online Multiplayer will allow players to have more options about where to play, when to play, and who to play with. It was important to us that Runbow Pocket players still have the option to play this crazy multiplayer game with other New Nintendo 3DS owners anywhere in the world, whenever they want.
Hopefully we won't have to wait long for Runbow Pocket, but until then you can always pick up Runbow on Wii U.
