OSnap Games Launches Kickstarter For Quasar

OSnap Games is busy away work on their shoot 'em up Quasar for Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and have taken to Kickstarter to help them with the final push.  The goal is $25000, with 35 days to go, I think we can get this one fully funded.

"Inspired by great shoot ‘em ups of the past such as Asteroids and Space Wars, we’ve set out to make QUASAR a bullet-tastic, top-down multiplayer game for our generation. The mechanics are simple, but the action takes place in procedurally generated areas for a unique and frenetic play experience that tests your skills every time. The game can be played with up to 10 players (5 vs. 5), and we like to say it is easy to learn, fast to play and hard to master."

You can check out the Kickstarter right here, and follow the developer on Twitter as well.  I've had a chance to play to play Quasar and it's a long of fun.  The Kickstarter has all sorts of details on the gameplay, and sound track with the estimate delivery date on it being September 2016, so hopefully we don't have to long of a wait.

Axon Interactive Announces Kickstarter For Quench Coming This Wednesday

Axon Interactive teased that something was in the works for Quench, and now we know what. They've announced that this Wednesday they'll be launching a Kickstarter for their upcoming game Quench.  There will also be a Steam Greenlight page that we can vote for:

In the past year, we’ve received incredibly encouraging feedback from our fans about the unique aesthetic of the world and its creatures, the focus on non-violence as a game mechanic, and the central themes of compassion and community, where you can change the world through nurturing the earth and helping others.
We’re on our way to completing and releasing Quench on PC and Mac near the end of 2016. But with the majority of our funding received and paid out (and the final amount allocated to post-production costs), we need a boost to help us get to the finish line. So we’ve decided to turn to our friends, family, and fans.

In the meantime, make sure to follow Axon Interactive on Twitter and Tumblr.

Don't Starve: Shipwrecked Coming To PlayStation 4

Having just released Don't Starve: Shipwrecked on Steam late last month, Capybara Games and Klei are not done collaborating. They've announced that Don't Starve: Shipwrecked will be coming to PlayStation 4 this Spring.

"The expansion pack for Don't Starve introduces the ability to craft boats, and explore the open seas."

"Hop in a sailboat and chart new corners of the mysterious archipelago, paddle a raft through the crashing waves and shout “Land Ho!” when you spot a newly discovered jungle island, find treasure maps that lead to buried riches, or fire cannons at pursuing sea monsters or schools of surface-slicing fins. To us, the rich mythos of shipwreck and pirate castaway lore was a perfect fit for Don’t Starve’s survival gameplay, and the expansion into seafaring offers a new set of challenges to established players."

Don't Starve is currently out right now on PlayStation 4, with Shipwrecked coming this Spring.

DrinksBox Studios Releasing Severed April 26th

Last time we checked, Severed had been sent to PlayStation for certification. And now, we have a firm release date for the first person touch based RPG.  DrinkBox Studios took to the PlayStation Blog to announce the game is coming to PlayStation Vita on April 26th, and PlayStation Plus users will have a 10% discount.

Severed is a first-person dungeon crawling adventure where you equip the carcasses of your enemies to gain their powers. You play as Sasha, a warrior who wakes up in a surreal fantasy world and sets off on a mission to find the missing members of her family.
Severed was initially planned as a Spring 2015 release, but after showing an early demo of the game at PlayStation Experience in December 2014, we became inspired with a ton of new ideas and decided there was a lot more we wanted to add. It only took a whole extra year, but we’ve finally finished packing in as much as we could into Severed and we’re really happy with how it has turned out.

You can check out the full trailer and screenshots below!

Take control of a one-armed warrior named Sasha, wielding a living sword on her journey through a nightmare world in search of her family. Swipe-based touch controls will let you solve puzzles, find secrets, and do battle with a host of disturbing monsters.

You can also pick up the soundtrack for the game right now over here.  The game will be available for PlayStation Vita on April 26th. Let us know in the comments if you still have a Vita!

Far Cry Primal Gets A Free "Survivor" Mode

Ubisoft has announced that their prehistoric first person shooter Far Cry Primal will be getting a free update, which includes a new difficulty "Survivor Mode".  This new difficulty will include permadeath (optional), less humans and animals to hunt, the minimap turned off, a stamina gauge, and more. You can check out the announcement trailer below:

The Stone Age is about to get even more brutal. Far Cry Primal will receive a FREE "Survivor Mode" update on April 12 for consoles and PC, which will make Oros and its inhabitants harsher and more dangerous than ever. You'll also have the option of enabling permadeath, if you're willing to risk extinction.

“The idea of doing this mode actually started from the team, saying they wanted to create this mode based on feedback they got from the community,” says Thomas Simon, Far Cry Primal’s game director. “The keystone of that survival mode is the change in the exploration, crafting, and difficulty of the game to make it even more realistic. After that, there are options the player can activate to go further.”

Far Cry Primal was released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC earlier this year, and I quite enjoyed it.  The new update will be available April 12th for all platforms.
